my gun of choice is my Tikka 7mm-08 w/leupold VXlll dropped deer,hogs,and yotes in there tracks over 200 yards.Marlin 308 and Savage 300 win mag also on deck.never shot the 300 at any thing but paper targets,don't know if i ever will.got brand new never been shot for doing some work on a guys a/c.
I shoot a T/C Prohunter .280 ,Browning A-Bolt .270 have killed many deer here in Fl. as well as Ga. never any issues

Marlin 30-30 Inexpensive. and with the new Hornady Leverevolution ammo. Your good to 200 yards. Depending on the shooter.
