Went to Gander Mt. today looke at some Rem 700's,salesman showed me a rifle called a tikka. Never heard of it but he swore by it and said he owned two of them. They are extremely light 6.5 lbs and supposed to be highly accurate.Made in Finland, imported by Berreta. I researched them and found nothing but great reviews. Think I'm gonna by one, stainless and composite in .300 win mag.Very sleek, comfortable, light rifle.Anyone here have one or heard of them?
Heard some good things about them, but never used one. Saw them on the Beretta hunting show on TV, and the guy was shooting pronghorn antelope at about 300 yards with one, but I forget what caliber. I was talking about them at Crock's party to someone, I think Glowworm or DaveT, and they said the lighter weight made the recoil a bit stronger, but the right recoil pad could probably handle that if it's needed.
Heard many good things about them, and have shot one in a 270. You are right, the are light in weight. Not gonna tell you what to do but a light weight rifle in a 300 win mag may be a shoulder breaker
That's what I was thinking about the recoil but man that was a sweet rifle. And a lb or two makes a big difference after a long day.
I'm not dead set on a 300 but would like one.I think he said he has a 270 wsm and loves it.He hunts out west.
