No kidding. 1 day of them saber-toothed pterodactyl skeeter up there in Bear Creek, and I'da paid $200 for one of em. Luckily, it wasn't that much. That thing ran from 0500-1900 every day all season until the temps dropped down into the 20s in the mornings. But, I still had to run it in the evenings.
Bear creek was the worst place I have ever seen. even worse than the glades. One morning there was a heavy frost and I still had to run mine
Yessir. I thought the glades and the black hammock were bad, but the skeeters up there hurt when they run into you, and if you get bit by more than 4 of em at once, you can go anemic.
Yeah, when they can stand flat-footed and pee in the back of your truck, you gotta use something to keep them at bay!
Okrakoke island N.C., I remember driving the truck onto the beach and they swarmed the truck so bad waiting for you to get out you could hardly see out the windows. and if you swatted one you'd get blood smeared all over you, whoose or whats blood was anyones guess. and they were huge.
