YA if you did not have a chance on a baker you have not lived.........30 years ago in ocala had to slide down a big pine. had the hand unit where you had to do crunches to climb, thank god for sit and climb.

it doesn't matter what climber i have they all have a tether either in the center or both sides that is only as long as it has to be if the bottom slips it only goes a couple of inches and i can hook my feet and pull it back up its only ever happened once and the foot strap broke when i was on my way up a tall cypress

why would you want a steel one? i weighed at one time over 350 and it held me like a champ..

Ol' Man Multi-Vision. Packs to about 5" flat. I love mine.

Got the grand multi and I like mine too. Need a neoprene seat though if you wanna sit for a long time.
