Been using them for years on my feeders....just clip on to the spring top like allen says, make sure of the voltage 6v and face toward the sun......they last a very long time....if you ever have any doubt about it putting out voltage, you can check it with a volt meter real easy. I get em at tractor supply or dicks.....

Speaking of voltage meters.....They sell a cheap one at Harbor Freight for like $4. Ive had one for years and worked flawlessly. I use it extensively for checking feeder batteries. Part of the LCD screen went out so I couldn't read it. I went in there browsing the other day and they were on sale for $3.99. LOL. worth every penny

the moultrie tripod feeder I set up last April/may? with a used energizer 6v spring top battery read 100 % when I set it up and now reads 75%, even through the cold winter . I run it 1-2 x's daily for 1-sec's. I'm very surprised and happy with the battery life I'm getting. the 6-d cell batteries in the camera are another story, I've had to change them 3 times. I'm just surprized and happy neither has been stolen, even though set up on private property. hate to add a solar charger to something being stolen, but I guess 20$ is not such a biggie.
