Need some good ideas or user friendly equipment to set up trail cams with solar panels and rechargable batteries... saved so much money since using rechargables in the feeder motors... only one feeder using a solar panel and it's still running since set up... now I need to do the same with my trail cameras.. but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me exactly what I need to convert to solar and rechargable power for the cams... Any one able to assist?

The only experience I've had with the solar packs for cameras was with a Primos Truth Cam 46. It had an optional external 6v power pack and the solar charger went into that pack. Quite frankly, those cameras are such total Pieces of Crap that it ain't worth it to buy one for the ability to go to the solar setup. I've never had one of their cameras last long enough for the batteries to die...6 now since June. I'll never buy another but I just keep right on sending them back and making Primos replace them on their dime.

I also use some other brands of cameras and I put rechargeable batteries in them. I just have one extra set of batteries so I can recharge the dead ones and keep the cameras running.

I think I saw some tutorials on ehow.com about solar panels and trail cams.

That's what I've been doing with my feeder motors... but only have one set up for solar... and I haven't had to change it yet...

Which cameras are you running?

If you check Moultrie"s web site once in awhile, they have on the "Internet ONLY" page, sometimes, a solar panel with on board batteries. never have to put batteries in the cameras again. refurbed with the year warranty , they were like $40.00 last time they had some.
