for someone younger a 20 guage is perfect.. My wife weight 120 lbs and is 5'2" she uses a 20 guage with no problem.. Last time we went skeet shooting she was using the 20 all day.. i tod her "hey babe use my 12 guge its more fun" she shot it.. Yes she did.. didnt talk to me the rest of the day. LOL

With the technology of slugs these days and the speed and accuracy they deliver, a 20ga might be worth looking into. Hell they are just like shooting a rifle now. They are a lot different than the old pumpkin chunkers I used to shoot

im dying to put a slug through my mossberg 835.. but i gotta get a dam slug barrell.. You cant shoot rifled slugs cause the 835 for some odd reason has a wider barrel like a 10 guage. weird.

Ive got an old 870 wingmaster 2 3/4 that came with a slug barrel when my dad bought it for me many years back. I can shoot a 2" group at 100 yards with that thing. I put a regular 3x9 rifle scope on it. I tried to zero the thing in and the first shot kicked my nose so friggin hard it was 30 minutes before I could open my eyes. I took that thing off and put a red dot scope on it.
I carry that gun on my 4 wheeler now for shooting snakes & hogs during the summer
