Went to Dick's sporting goods today and they had single shot break open rifles (they were either cva optima or traditions can't remeber which) for $249.00. Had three calibers 270, 308 and 30-06 they were stainless and had syenthetic stocks. They were heavy but still pretty cool, they look alot like the t/c encore. Was real close to getting the 270 but decided to hold off. Anybody on here have one or shot one?
Wouldn't give you a nickle for them. If it ever breaks or you ever need to get it repaired you might as well use it as a boat anchor.
Save your money and at least buy one of the H&R single shot rifles or save a little longer if you really want a single shot and buy a Ruger #1.
Personally why do you want a single shot rifle anyway??? Find a deal on a used bolt gun (Rem 700, Ruger 77, Browning A bolt ) for $300-$500

I have plenty of bolt and lever actions thought it would be a cheap way to put another caliber in the gun case without breaking the bank. Whats the difference between the h&r and this rifle?
The H&R is proven and shoots great. I have a friend who has one that he hasn't shot. He got it in a trade deal for a bunch of guns. His is an H&R SB2 Ultra Hunter in .25-06, 26" Heavy Barrel, Blue, Sling studs, Uncle Mikes ventilated recoil pad, raised comb dark walnut finished hand cheekered birch stock, hand cheekered forend, Weaver rings, Simmons Blazer 3x9x50 matte black scope, and offset hammer spur to easily cock hammer. It weighs about 8-9 lbs, he has the original box and calls the wood 90% and bluing 85%. It has been hunted with but not abused. Just talked with him and he would take $250.00 cash for it. It is twice the gun of the CVA or Tradition. Has a life time no fault warranty with H&R. He will email me a photo and I will post it here.
If he is serious about selling that gun Ill take it. Seriously
