if you sand floors for a living, it should be a piece of cake. just make sure you tape the wood areas. smiths use disc sanders I believe, I have used a dremmel but wouldnt recomend it ( not as accurate/controlable ) if you use a slip on just make sure it doesnt alter your length of pull too much. if you have to reach for the trigger shots tend to go right ( for me anyway )

if you are gonna port as stated it will be a lot louder you really dont notice shooting it but everyone around to the sides will!! ny buddy got his 300 win mag done and says its like shootin a 06 i had them do my old 44 mag and loved it! the company is the best out there. http://www.magnaport.com/
but them simms pads work great also on a 06 its not worth the price or needed as said above just get a sims, also you can get the managed recoil shells they sell for 06's also.

simms also has model specific pads also such as say rem modl. 700 or win modl. 70 so if you have a main line model they may have one to just screw right on to your gun.

yea i got a rem 700. i saw one on a guys gun and it was like to fat and too big.. looked horrible.. if they make perfect fit ones id get one. limbsaver makes them so they have to be sanded down and put on by a gunsmith to look right. thanks for the link ill check it out.
