what range do you guys think I should zero my rifled bbl slug gun, for hogs, I'm using a 12 ga with 2 3/4" 1 oz winchester slugs ( the only ones I can get enough of ) at 1350 fps I believe. I think most shots will be 50 yds or less but have never seen a hog in the few times I've hunted them. i would rather zero the gun for the range I'll be shooting at game the most, and hold high if I get a long shot.

defenetly sight it for 50 they just throw a few at 100 to see where they hit so you know the hold over if needed. all my guns are sighted for 50 and have never killed anything but once over that in fl. only one time on our lease i shot a doe right at 300 with a 308 that was the farthest i've ever shot a animal in my life even when up north never shot anything over 50.

problem is I just can't find enough of the same brand and type of sabots to zero and have any left to hunt with. I was at the range today and got lucky.zeroed the winchesters in with 3 shots at 50 yds ( the last adj was on faith ) then fired a fed prem sabot and both shot to the same place, dead center. so now I have 6 sabots to hunt with ( 2 brands ), whoopee. better than only 3. didn't even try to mess with the hornady sst's, I've got 10 of them, but will wait till I can get more. also zeroed the 270wsm and 7mm08 with my nosler partition handloads. now I'm well armed, well heeled and loaded for bear ( hog )

I'm using the same setup, and zeroed it in at 50 yards. It hits the same place at 15 feet. :rambo
