Hey Nacho I wear the 17" high bean boots made by LL bean. They have rubber bottoms and leather uppers and are water proof if you keep them oiled extremely comfortable and very light almost like wearing moccasins. They are way more comfortable than any of the other snake / mud boots i've worn. They are not really snake boots but the leather will give you some protection and they will not pull off if you get into nasty mud. I have big calves too and there is still alot of room up top I bet they would fit you. Their only problem is that they ain't the warmest boots in really cold weather but with a good pair of socks its not really an issue here in Florida.
Go bare footed,when I was a kid I couldn't afford boots to hunt in.
