I use the prussic system and I am never not tethered to the tree. I attach my harness to the prussic loop when I walk up to the base of the tree and don't unhook until I climb down. I use to not use my harness that much, but I had a good friend fall out of his stand in New York and he ruptured his spleen and died. His stand was only 10 feet to the seat.

When I'm hunting in the Cypress I'll be using a climber and not leaving a rope to the tree to tie off to. That's why I was looking at that particular harness. If my climber gives it would be a lot easier to get down. Price is not really the object on this. I'm more concerned if I really need one that I can lower myself down with. I can't see me breaking an arm or collar bone and not being able to shimmy down the tree if need be. There definitely won't be anyone just happening by to help me out that's for sure. I would say that 95% of the time I don't see or hear anyone else.

just make sure you have easy access to a knife you can get to and use/open with a single (either) hand in case you gotta cut loose.

If I ws buying a new harness, thats the one I would get. I've worn the HSS vest harnesses for years, and they are simply just too hot. I got this one last year at the Big Buck expo

Its the same thing, just without the vest material, and MUCH MUCH cooler. This is not one of those spaghetti noodle straps that comes with a stand that takes three days to untangle

I bought it, then went to BPS during the fall sale, and they had the Rescue1 harness on special for $99
