How can you tell?It does not have ss on it
stick it in a patatoe if it turns blak over night it's carbon steel.
how does that work.

Thats why I never carried it...........lol.When I was a kid i cut up a orange and it discolored the blade!Does that mean its carbon?

carbon blades or the best,Me and my dad make knives and we like to use old saw blades
Back when I worked at Plant City Steel, if the band saw in the machine shop broke a blade, there was a waiting list of guys wanting a piece of it! I saw some awesome knives made by a couple of the guys, real works of art. A leaf spring from an old American made car, truck or tractor also makes awesome metal to work with.
