So are the new ones good?Or do you have to look for the old ones.(How old).

i think that gerber is garbage and buck wont hold an edge just my opinion but all i use are case , forscner and the knives that the guy makes in my nieghborhood

When someone hates on quality knives like Gerber or Buck, it reflects more on the knowledge and experience of the person than on the knives. Gerber and Buck have been making great, affordable knives that millions of people use and love. If you don't like the handles, or the style, or can't learn to sharpen them properly, or whatever your beef is, fine, but don't blame the knife.

I had a gerber fillet knife years ago and it was the best knife I ever had.
