yeah, if he wasn't tryin to finish his house, i think he would buy it. he has been borrowing guns for his hunting trips for the past couple years. three or four years ago he went with a borrowed gun, camo and ammo and killed a 7 point on his first ever deer hunt.

IMO, If you're going to get a gun to serve multiple purposes, a 12G shotgun is definitely the way to go. Get a 28" bbl and a smoothbore slug barrel. You can kill about anything with it.

if it's your 1st and only gun I'd definately go shotgun. much more versatile,cheaper, and with a few diff barrels can hunt anything/anywhere in fla. some areas do not allow centerfire rifles. all the above rifles are nice choices ( for your 2nd gun)

thanks everyone for the info i think im goin with the mossberg 500 12 ga. was deciding between that or the tc encore and the shotgun won so the week after next im goin to get it
