Not an option since it is on loan to my dad as his brush deer hunting gun for our property in upstate NY. He's a big pump Remington 870 shotgun guy so naturally when I acquired it about 10 years ago I was told he would love to have temporary possession. Needless to say, he loves it as much as I do and now it's turned into a temporary permanent possession for the last 3 or so years. That's fine, he's happy with it and it's the least I can do to put a smile on his face.

The 760 carbines are tough to find though with the 18" barrel. Plenty of old 760's and used 7600's out in the market but the carbines are like a needle in a hay stack. Mine is in .308 and has a nice Redfield 4X on her.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=170000798 Don't know if this is real value but it has no reserve. Sounds like a good deal to me. I decided to buy that guys 270 wsm and I don't think he wants to meet me 1/2 way.

Yeah it would be a great deal, problem is there are still 6 days left on the auction. I will watch it but it will probably sell for a whole lot more than $600.00 - $800.00. I can get a brand new one like that, thru my dealer at cost for around $750.00 plus tax (Jap Gun). That one isn't collectors grade since it has an aftermarket recoil pad and the rear sight is screwed up or missing.

Skunkape, that 243 blr states it has a 12 1/2" length of pull, thats REAL short even for a woman or kid. I have a short lop at 5'8" and 325lbs and I cut my rifles down to about 13 1/4" lop, the standard length of pull on a factory gun is now 14 1/4". I believe you stated youre over 6', you'd need a new stock or add about 2" worth of recoil pad. unless that was a typo.
