Everyone should price reference ANY gun you buy or sell before hand on either Buds gun shop, or Gunbroker.com...or both. Both of those sites are pretty accurate and buds is about as cheap as you will find new guns
Bought a 1963 Winchester Model 12 20 Gauge from Southern Oaks Gun and Pawn in Orlando for $510.00 OTD. Put it on lay away until the end of the month. Went back on the 30th to pick her up and the owner was there helping me not the salesperson that I did the transaction with. Now full boat on this shotgun in today's market is about $750.00. The owner nearly goes crazy on the salesperson who came out of the back for selling and letting it go for 510, and begins scolding the salesperson right in front of me, and then offers me my $100 down payment plus another 100.00 which I declined. Paid the remaining balance of $410.00 and ask the owner "how much did you have it her?" He says "alot less than 510.00". I tell the guy that I would love to continue buying guns like this one at the right price and you can still double your money. Sounds fair and then the owner says, "no more deals like that will leave my store", I said in response that I understand and would assure him that I would let my 20 or 30 gun nut/collector buddies know what transpired and to not even stop in the store again. He looked at me like he couldn't care less. Hope they go out of business!
ouch...
any place I see to raise prices just because of latest election will never get my business either..
Florida Tactical Armory on FGT had a saiga 12 that is 775 shipped online with extras for sale for 1150!!!!
these pawn shops just followed suit and are worse than dealers now.
I have a guy in englewood (MT's guns) that makes a few bucks on every gun, but nothing crazy. I go through them time and time again just because of principle on honest business practices, even if I could save 15 bucks buying through cheaper than dirt i'll buy from them instead..sell one gun for a high profit and lose that customer after they realize they paid to much or have a repeat customer for life???
I had seen one of Florida Tactical's ads on FGT and saw that they are in Bradenton, across from the Pirates Stadium. Now I have no idea what prices should be for Saiga shotguns, and didn't notice the ad on FGT mentioned by X711, but I do know I've seen prices all over the place for "Saiga 12 ga shotguns", and it's almost like trying to compare prices on ARs or AKs where the way it's put together and the parts used make a big difference in cost and quality.
I stopped by there Friday on my lunch break to see what they had for pistols. The prices I saw on the rifles and handguns in their store didn't seem out of line compared to other gun stores in the area (Red Barn, Take Aim, Bullseye in Palmetto) or prices I've seen at gun shows in the last 2-3 months.
I actually thought their prices were pretty decent for a LGS. They had a Kahr CW45 for $380, Bud sells them for $355. They also had a S&W 638 Airweight for I believe the same price, $380. You can find them on Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore for about $350. Add the usual $25-35 FFL fee to these online prices, and Florida Tactical's prices aren't out of line, at least for these guns.
They also had a Bersa BP9CC, which I took home. It was used, but looks new. The price was right for a like-new pistol, compared to prices I'd seen on GunBroker. Got it for $314 out-the-door.
Nice folks, too. Guy and his wife (I assume they were married), and she ain't hard to look at! She has an Eastern European accent, maybe Russian or Ukrainian, and wears a Glock on her hip in the store. She was quite friendly, but I got the feeling she knew how to use that pistol, and she might have even known more about the weapons they had than her husband.
This is just my experience with them in person. I'll go back. I have no idea how they do business on Florida Gun Trader. But when I go shopping for a firearm, I usually have a pretty good idea what I should be paying if it is retail or used, at least within reason. If I go back and find things have changed for the worse, I'll be sure to let everyone know!
I have been in there as well. I almost did not notice they were selling guns in there. All I saw for the first couple minutes was a hot blonde. Summertime., shorty shorts, anyways....they had a decent selection of black guns, and that's about it. Only guns with any wood were some old beat up bolt actions, and a couple older not so pristine shotguns. He sells jeeps as well as guns. So, hot blonde, jeeps and guns, not at all a bad place. I will say this though, he will try to push AK's over just about anything, or at least he did while I was in there.

the ad for the saiga was flagged for removal by fgt users fairly quickly.
I saw the original ad
it was bone stock converted ak (they had clear picture in original ad)
same exact gun as in link listed above except that online shop includes a few extras and priced and in stock at 750 plus ship so just under 800 OTD
as far as the blonde: really could be naked but if i know they tried price qouging someone i'd still never purchase a item there.
good to hear some of their prices were in check, have you been there since the elections? I also noticed all their prices on black guns went up about 100 each on the fgt featured ads they have (m+p 15 was 950 or 999 now its 1100) more or less what is my point is this is all stemming from election and they just recently raised prices in effort to make more profit off the dumb who panic buy at full or higher retail.
