the brush gun debate is an old chestnut, like the 270 vs 30-06. one side says small bore light and fast works best, others large diam, heavy, and slow work best. IMO the shotgun slug wins but who knows. bottom line, anything hit other than the game intended is going to deflect the trajectory TO SOME DEGREE no matter what you shoot. best bet don't shoot brush, and yes I know sometimes it can't be helped.
ive heard that huntin with 30-30 isnt good in florida because of all the brush and that the bullets are so light they dont like when they hit a lil brush
Gonna have to politely disagree with that. Personally I think it is the best caliber ever invented for Florida style hunting. And with the invent of the lever revolution ammo, you can reach out and touch them
well thats good to know.
I'd have to agree that the 30-30 would be the way to go in Florida for a cheaper gun. Don't know about finding one for $200 though unless you find a guy at a pawn shop before he goes in. $299 with a scope sounds like a good deal.
