Other than making it harder to travel around the piece, what other issues do you run into with wet hunting property. I am rather new at this but it seems that a topo map would be your best hunting tool. Wouldn't any high and dry spot/ridges become the logical locations to hunt and set up feeding stations? Or is it just not worth the hassle.
waders. first and foremost. If you got a fourwheeler.. LIFT IT. thats the only thing i havent dont to mine and im kicking my self in the butt for not doing it when i had money. BIGGER TIRES in the four wheeler. WINCH on the fourwheeler. Cause where theres water.. THERES MUDD.
Other then that you will be ok getting around. My hip waders are the best 29 bucks i ever spent.
Hunting in a wet place is a pain in the azz. I do it in the Cypress when I hunt down south. You ain't gonna sneak up on anything. Good thing is that you can count on them bedding down in the dry heads surrounded by water. We hunted in Echols/Clinch counties for a few years and we didn't have any real water problems. We didn't really have but one bear that I knew of. Never had any feeders damaged or anything. And there is a short season on bears in Ga. It was a nice piece of property but 3/4 of the members were locals with no jobs. So much pressure pushed them all nocturnal. Not sure what you're looking to spend but the lease I'm on now will have some openings in the $1500 range.
my last lease was underwater.. lol.. i had to wear hip waders to get to my stand.. BUTTT!!! i would hear the hogs coming on cause of the splashing.. I could fall to sleep and wake up to splashing..
