Well, I found out last week my lease holders are going to make some changes
1. They are raising the price from $1k to $1500
2. They are going to all club stands, no personal stands and food plots
2A. They are putting in 25 food plots and will have a first come first serve sign in board to hunt them
Those 2 things right there really pissed me off. In all reality, the lease won't be that bad...its just the principle of it. The property is 5600 acres, and only going to be 16 members, which is 350 acres per member...however they run dogs on the place.(they are implementing a rule that no dogs before 9Am and after 4pm)
Also found out they have been doing paid hog hunts out there since season was over to recoup some of their money. I knew something was up due to the lack of hog sign I was seeing, and lack of hogs on camera.
Not sure what I am going to do. I really like the place, but thats a lot of money. I can go across the road and be in another dog club (with Skunkape) and its 30k acres for less money...
If you have interest i can get you into mine. I know you want to be close to steinhattchee.. but we got a nice hunt camp with running water, electric and all the goodies. Sorry to hear allen.. Shoot i moved from one lease to another and its a pain in the ass.
500$ more, how much time and money do you spend on your private food plots? will theres be as good?the private guided hog hunts might be a deal breaker if thats a primary reason for going there. they are going to build and maintain permanent stands that will get patterned by animals by 1st season and remove your ability to move/adapt to changing animal behaviors/travel routes. sounds like less work and might be better for newbies but not your cup of tea. good luck finding a new spot.
If they will let me keep my one personal spot down in the swamp, I will stay. Half the sissies won't hunt there anyways. Too wet and too many skeeters for the normal folk.
