Yep. Unless he leaves it at home, he's gonna have to store it in the base armory. Same for ammo too. It's a big hassle. I found it was easier to leave it at home, or find a good friend that lives off base that he can trust and that will let him store it there.

I was active duty USAF for 10+ years, so I know all about the base requirements. The gun laws in Virginia are similar to Florida's.
