My son is coming home on leave for about 3 weeks, will be flying in to Tampa tonight (Friday). His birthday was June 8th, he turned 21 and we weren't able to be with him because he was in USAF tech school.

Anyway, in honor of his 21st, him finishing his basic training and tech school, and him going off to live his life, I want to give him a decent pistol. He's shot a few pistols, and I know he had to shoot the 9mm Beretta in basic training, so that's along the line of what I'm looking for, probably leaning towards a 9mm, but a good deal on a .40S&W or .357Sig wouldn't be bad. Might even consider a .357Mag. Just want him to have something available for road trips, like when he drives up to Virginia at the end of his leave, and when he makes a trip home.

So if anyone has a pistol they are thinking about selling for a reasonable price, PM me and let's see what we can do.

Thanks!

try the newspaper sporting goods for sale, I see alot of great deals and have bought severall that way. my fav autos are sigsauer and revolvers (new) smith & wesson, but would drool over a vintage colt python or diamondback.

I can't remember the last time I opened a newspaper. I get my news online. I'll see if the local papers put their classifieds on their websites.

it's been a while since I drove thru VA, but they wouldn't even let ya have radar detectors, let alone handguns, but it's been about 7 yrs, could get a pistol grip 12 ga with 18" bbl fairly cheap.

Just a note,, I don't know if you said is he staying on base, in a dorm, if so he won't be able to carry one on base, it would need to be locked up and need to be signed out each time he is going to use it..also traveling on a plane, they get kind of spokey on guns on base,, but if you got that all figured you cancheck out actionarms.com or gunbroker.com both have real good selection. Just know what you want and how much is a good price fo it
