If so, what do you use for a gun and what load?
I have a Winchester 1300 Marine that I'm wondering if it will fit the bill. It's a fixed choke 18.5 inch barrel with fiber optic sights. Nice shotgun...just wonder if I can use it to hunt.

Im probably gonna be using a 12 gauge Mossberg for gun season this year.
Just use buckshot im assuming.
I use a winchester 1300 with 26" barrel when running deer with dogs.That shotgun is fine just need to change barrel.Check gunbroker.com and carson shotgun barrels .com. I would use at least a 20" for slugs but IMO 22"-24" for slug barrel and 26"-30" at most for buck shot and 30" and up for birds. And please remember this is JMO.May very from person to person. :rockon

I used my 500 and slugs in open terrain and close corners I used 00 or 000 buck.
I'll be useing a single shoot 20 for hog.
