went out today for my last scout before my fri-sun muzzle hunt, i drew a good wma limited draw area quota only unless small game tons of oaks. well drove down to a pine/oak/cypress swamp mix area, where we hunted tree rats at last season and seen alot of rubs, so i pull over park and there he was workin a scrape the bigest buck i've seen in this area ever he was a solid 8 point as best i could tell he was on the edge of a old clear cut /fire break from the 98 fires, he was abot 60-75 yrds away he just stood there and looked at the car then bobed his head and then turned and walked never blew never ran. i got out and stood up on the hood and could see him just walk off. i waited 15 mins then went in to where i wanted to go but stayed on the other side of the cut. found my tree for fri morning 100 yards from that scrape and 50 from a huge line of rubs. the buck was the first chocolate horn buck i've ever seen in fl. been here 15 1/2 years this time around. he was defenetly at least a 5-6 year old buck was grayin in the face a bit and my guess would go 150 alive weight. as of rack score i have no clue but he would defenetly go 100-120! i am super pumped for this hunt its gonna be hard to sleep on thurs. hopefully i will have some pics of him to post by the hunt's end.
Sounds like a great area. Good luck :rockon
thanks man i'll at least post pics of the area sure hope to see him again i only have a 3 day muzzle permit for there but one of my partners has 9 day gen gun in there so he is gonna buddy permit me for it too! even if i can get him on video if no shot will be cool with me but i sure like to put him on the wall!

Ya know.I ain't seen any sign of buck activity. Ain't even seen one in my club.Hope they get moving by Sat. Usually they are all over by Halloween.
