first offence should be a misdameanor with a $1000 fine.
second offence should be a FELONY $5000 fine
third offence should be a FELONY $5000 fine and loss of hunting privileges for 5 years.
They should actually start doing something about poachers instead of just kind of looking the other way
It's crazy how they will take some things serious and let other things go. I was down in the Key's this summer and was snorkling on a coral head in state water. I had a spear in my hand, no gun just a shaft, I was approached by an FWC boat and they asked me if I realized that it was illegal to have a spear in the water. I told them that I did not and they searched my boat to see if I had any fish life aboard. They did not find anything because I had not speared a fish. I got a $450 fine and I am currently serving 6 months mistomenor probation. Now that is some bullshit!!!! :bigfinger
Yup, they are dead serious about no kill zones down there. Don't even have fish in your boat if you pull up to snorkel on a no kill zone. Your word vs. theirs. Not a good situation.
a friend of a friend. shot a dow on chazz, went ot the skinning rack skinned it and went home.. fwc went to his house got the meat out the freezer, gave him tons of times and he lost his gun privileges for ever.. he can only hunt with a bow in the state of fl.. and they took all his firearms. tons of fines, court dates, handcuffs the whole nine.
FWC on the water is ok but they are a joke in the woods. They love to hang at the check station of any wma and issue citations for no orange vest or not having an archery stamp on hand from the window of their truck when we all know the true poachers can be found on swfmd property at any given moment. They simply go where they know they can issue the most petty citations from their truck cab so they can justify their existance. I am all about making sure things are regulated correctly but i dont need to be hassled over bs...wait, what was the question again?
