Hey all. I just wanted to take some time to talk to you all about Hunter Orange.

When i first started hunting i was like "dam this bright stuff sucks, animals are gonna see me from a mile away" Well this year i had some experiences that made me realize that the "hunter orange system" is up for YOUR safety. Its because the people who make the rules actually care about you.

This year ive noticed a couple of times that i saw a person real far off cause they had their hunter orange on. Many times they were in a place that if a big buck stepped out i would of taken a shot. But since the hunter had his orange on i realized that i could see him and this in the right situation could of saved his life.

When i was hunting in Ga i was glassing the food plot and was prepared to shoot a big buck if it would of stepped out. I saw kemster walking in the woods slightly behind it and said it myself "Wow if there would of been a big buck there at the time he was walking back there, and he didnt have his hunter orange on, theres a high possibility of something not good happening".

When i was in Chazz 2 weeks ago i was set up on a trail scoping out a deer path. in my scope i saw a hunter orange jacket walking towards me. Once again if he didn't have his orange on and a animal would of walked through that path and he was there i would of not seen him.

Now i know that during small game you are not required to wear orange. WEAR IT. At least a hat. Trust me. When i shot my hog there last month there where people around the bend of the road with camo on. I didn't see them. Buckshot sprayed past them. Not intentionally But it happened.

When i was walking up the trail in chazz. I saw some guy laying on the bushes sleeping. NO ORANGE. walked up to him and told him to throw a jacket on. Pigs walk through the palmettos and people will shoot at those bushes of they see a hog in there. This guy had himself in a very dangerous situation. He was in suck a deep sleep i had to pretty much slap his ass to wake him up. He would of never heard a deer or hog walking by.

When i was in mayaka I Didnt wear my hunter orange. (Small game Season) I was walking down a trail and i saw a guys hat (hunter orange) sitting on a bucket like a quarter mile way. He was staring at me. I kept walking straight. When i got up to him he said "i didn't see you until you were real close, If there would of been a hog between me and you i would of shot it". Then he asks "Is hunter orange required here?" I say no but next time ima make sure i have it on. He had a scoped slug gun.

Remember guys Small game means hunting with shotguns or .22 rifles. If someone dont see you way off and they shoot at a hog you can get shot. Remember small, game shotgun only hunting dont just mean buckshot. It means Slugs. a Slug can travel far and is not like buckshot that is a bunch of pellets that will spread out and the possibility of you getting hurt badly are slim. But a slug is not as forgiving as buckshot.

This is a personal message from me and the Fohaf Staff. Please dont forget to put on your hunter orange. Its for your own good.

Thanks for reading.

I had hunter orange on at a wma and came upon a doe and she just stood there. I got within 50 yards of her. The wind was just right, too bad it wasn't doe season.

Deer can't see it. I wear orange all the time. I even carry an orange hat in my pack in bow season for walking in and out
