still hunting is an oxymoron since you are not actually keeping still but stalking and moving about on the ground. that term is confusing.

Nope, that's spot/stalk.
Some people actually do find a spot and sit still all day...

Nacho is correct. Spot and stalk is called still hunting

Regardless, I try to find transition areas. Where one or more types of terrain come together. Whether it be 2 different ages of pines, hardwoods and pine edge, 2 areas of hardwoods intersecting, a point of trees in a clearcut, etc. If you can find 3 or more terrains converging in one spot you usually have a very good travel area

OK, so maybe you would be completely still SOME/ALL the time. tomato/TOMATO, wouldn't that be more ambush style? stillhunting doesn't really mean you have to keep still

Let's just say I expect to hunt sitting on a climber stand.
I don't think I know enough to be wondering around on the ground.
