I pull down every piece of tape I see and carry it back for proper disposal. Want to remember your spot? Find a landmark and use your GPS but quit trashing our woods.

:cheers

Just think what Daniel Boone would have thought of all these yuppees in the woods today...

In 1770 Daniel had been hunting Kan-tuck-ee for A YEAR when he linked up with his brother Squire who had brought supplies from their home in North Carolina (with no cell phones or GPS's...)

Later that year Squire left with the furs they had and sold them and returned with supplies....Daniel had been alone in the wilderness with a few dogs and a horse for company for MONTHS. The fact that they even found each other impresses me.

As an aside, many folks don't realize that Daniel explored the panhandle of Florida in 1765 with an interest of settleing there but his wife didn't want to move there....I guess some things just never change. LOL!!!

look for someone elses ladder stand in a prime location with a fully loaded pic-in-ic basket and cooler of beer. kidding aside you didn't mention what type of game you want. every animal leaves different tracks/marks like rubs/scrapes/wallows etc, fur/hair and scat. the more variety you can identify the better. don't forget which animal prefers what food source and when they are ripe and where found and water locations. do you want to still hunt/stalk or ambush, treestand/groundblind. the better you know the property the better the odds of you being in the right place at the right time. good luck = hard work patience and persistence, or something like that.

My main target will be deer and/or hog.
I expect to be still hunting... sitting on a climber.
Atleast that's my plan right now based on my very limited knowledge.

My technique for areas that are new to me is to stay on the ground. More freedom to move with changing conditions, less stuff to carry, easier time management since I'm not worrying about looking for a tree to hang a stand from.
