I have moved away from the backpack/fanny pack set up. I bought a molle compatable shotgun scabbard that fits my 94 lever like a glove. I attached two multi-use storage packs to the back of it and a cell phone/gps carrier to the shoulder strap. It holds everyting I carry into the woods with no problem. I find it alot easier tromping through the woods, especially when stalking.
In my fanny pack right now.
compass, 2 flashlights, 2 head lamps, 1 bright and 1 green, tp, knife, bright eyes, trail tape, bow holder, gps, rangefinder, grunt tube, the can, snacks, pruner, saw, extra d clips, stone, 2 bic lighters, cell phone, florida and georgia hunting license, mask and gloves.
must be a big fanny pack. and THEY ARE QUITE GAY, do you HAVE to wear spandex bike riding shorts when using one? lol I've been modifying mine with a shoulder sling and sewn on d rings and flashlight/multi-tool/compass holder to hold more CRAP. like a batman utility belt.
Extra bullets.
They're gay OUTSIDE of the woods. I used to use a back pack. Now if I'm in my climber facing the tree I wrap the fanny pack around the tree tight and I have all my stuff right in front of me in an open pack without having to move alot. If I'm facing away from the tree I put it around the climber and bungie it up so it can sit open like this too. Fanny pack makes it a whole lot easier to get to my stuff also. It's not too heavy but my buddy has one with straps that I swear weighs every bit of 20 lbs. :eek
