52 hours this weekend at Econfina Creek Thurs to Sunday. Total waste of time. Dog hunters in the dog area had the deer so spooked, the only time you could see em at all was when they were traveling at mach 4 across some really narrow trails into the deep dark unhuntable stuff. I saw exactly 1 deer (twice), 4 Bay County Deputy Sheriffs, and 2 families of idiots riding horses through the management area during general gun quota. Talk about a death wish.
The deputy I talked to said they warn em every year that if they or their horses get shot, there's nuttin they can do, cus they aren't supposed to be there. Some folks just don't have the sense they were supposed to be born with. Almost touched off a 3"mag for laughs into a stump to see if they'd leave. After all, they'd already hosed my hunt jabbering and laughing riding those Canadian steak factories.
Right around 20 hours in my blind saw many deer but not one shooter buck within legal property to hunt but now secured all surrounding land,sweet.I cant hunt on the lands but can shoot onto and that makes a big difference but also all the corn is now picked so wont need the extra range.The turkey are starting to get to a very good huntable population!!
