the cam was app 20 yds away and 3 raccoons, in total darkness ( 5:30- 7am ) weren't tripping the flash, yet it would take pics of squirrels in daytime. moved it app 15 feet from tripod with a good angle covering trail coming in and cross trail.got 2 tricks left to try,1- put some diesel on the stinkcorn buried in the post holes and 2- build a rubbing post with used motor oil, all within the cams field of view. can't think of anything else to try short of moving entire set up. deer are just starting to hit it and hopefully hogs to follow when they are in the area.
well since you dont have hogs.. take all that stinky stuff out,, the deisel and stuff and put clean good corn. clean the whole area up and then you will get deer. I mean you can get a deer but with that hog setup it might keep the deer away.. Hence the reason of nothing on cam.
I'm getting plenty of pics just no hogs and nightime shots show nothing, yet something must have tripped the cam, like I said 3- raccoons didn't trip the flash in the dark so I'm thinking the cam was just too far away, but got pics of ducks and squirrels in daytime and deer at 3am, someones dog and me also daytime, it flashed at me in the dark, but alot of shots in dark you just can't make out what it is, hence moving it closer and adjusting pic quality to med setting. I'm dug in for this season ,maybe move it for next year. if I build it they will come, just gotta have a little faith and patience. we all can't afford a lease in mayo ( hog capital of the world). honestly if it gets me off my azz and outta the house I'm happy. I don't have to kill something to have a good day.
