What happened? Did you miss and hit your brother's face too? j/k
He slowed it down is all that matters so the dogs could get a mouthful. With the boys I hunt with whoever draws the blood gets the horns. I'd give you the points for it if it were up me. We walked a pack in once and the deer jumped up right in front of my buddy and the dogs, dogs ate good that day.
RAd I've ran deer for years, just now I we seem to run more porkers. I still have one deer dog,I think were really gonna try pushing more deer this season again. Why the hell do you think they call it BUCKSHOT?
All rite heres a 8pt that i got at 7:30am 150lbs. It was cold and he steps out 30' from my tree and BOOM blood trail him one foot and I'm still pumped as I write this. I have been in my stand four and half days straite sun up to sun down thru the rainfor my sixty sec, window and here he is.
:chain :chain
Congrats!
[ quote="rad07h"]Are doghunter and I the only people who run dogs for deer on this website? How would you take time to make an "ethical" shot on a buck thats hauling ass because it has a pack of dogs behind it? When that buck jumps or runs by you have no time for anything other than to shoot at it. Sometimes believe it or not a deer doesnt die instantly when you shoot it and needs to be dispatched accordingly. It may not be the best way to kill a deer but its not like we stand around and watch it squirm till it dies if we spine shoot em etc.. you quickly walk up to it and either slit its throat (which I dont) or shoot it at point blank range and put it out of its misery (my preferred method). As far as the anti's reading this who cares ! There is no one in this world that will take away my right to hunt EVER.
Haha they don't sit there munching on corn or a food plot broadside while you pick your best shot, do they? Some folks will never understand running dogs because they have never done it.
