sorry to say it but 110 yds and running, with buckshot? what were you thinking spray and pray, for shame, you should know better. more fuel for the anti's. wouldn't do it myself and certainly wouldn't post about doing it. I hate to tell someone what or how to hunt but you're lucky you had dogs and someone on the other side to humanely finish off the deer you crippled or gut shot. imo not an ethical shot to take with that load. even with slugs or rifle that's a long/hard shot to make. again sorry for butting in but felt it needed saying.

Screw the anti's. Don't like my post? Refrain from reading them.We kill bucks, you take the shots you get. Killed 1 last yr that far with buckshot. I KNOW my beretta 592 28" barrel with a jelly head choke 3.5" will kill a buck at 100 yds. You don't believe me come here and I will blow a watermelon up at 100yds with it in front of your own eyes.
Dogs will catch'em and my lemon female had that crazy look in her eyes when I pulled her off the buck, her instinct to sink her teeth in a deer is quite a spectacle- 'run to catch' is what we call it. Pure animal instinct.
if that load is so deadly, how come after 4 shots it only "slowed it down a little". look I'm not gonna argue or tell you how to hunt but you posted on an open public forum so expect some feedback , positive and negative and that was just my opinion. glad you were able to recover the buck and it was a dandy. nuff said, lets move on.
