Can't wait till smoke pole season.This extra early and extra week are awesome.
Our club stayed with the 9 day season, which I really don't mind seeing as we really hammer the bucks during those 9 days. I have 3 other places to hunt besides the club so I might just hunt those some during that time. There's some hogs that need to be taken out on 2 of those places. If they root up my food plots again I might not be so forgiving this yr :chain
I have to agree with others some of the biggest well actually the 3 biggest deer i have ever seen have been beach deer.Idk what it is about the beach but some can grow to be monsters! Any ways went out on a local WMA the other day was rushin g out and forgot my release.Well sure enough 3 days come in within 15 yards a slamdunk of a shot and i had to shoot with fingers and apparently i shoot low with them lol. Sux owell goin out for and evening hunt the next couple days hopefully i can get some points on the board for us.

I've done that once myself but I never got a shot at one just shooting with my fingers. I'll be hunting the afternoons all week I hope. I have a few stands that are holding some larger bucks that I have been holding off on hunting waiting for this week. It's time to hunt the bigger bucks while they aren't as nocturnal..

I never recovered one I shot Sunday afternoon. We trailed spotty blood for 100 yds and it just quit. I HATE losing deer, it's the one thing I despise about bow season. It was too late to run and get a dog to put on the trail so hopefully the little buck will survive as it did before, seeing as it was the same 4pt I shot through the backstraps. I would rather just miss a deer than know it won't be recovered and that it sits there suffering a slow death before becoming coyote bait. It wasn't a bad shot, it just never made a pass through, and the pass through is crucial if the deer run out of sight IMO
