Missed a doe this morning. Tried to thread a needle and neck shoot thru heavy cover. Oh well. Bout to shower up and get back after it

I'm a solid 2 for 2 today.

Missed 2 different deer, with 2 different rifles, at 2 different stands. It wasn't the rifles. I set up a target right before dark and shot. They are both dead on. Just lack of concentration. Both of them, no excuse. Should both be dead deer. I tried to neck shoot again this evening. Was getting late and am up here by myself and dint want to have to blood trail. I guess I just shanked it is all......

I mostly use the high shoulder area for deer, it is a larger area than the neck, drops them in their tracks and if you shoot high its in the spine or a clean miss, and if you shoot low its in the lungs/heart. and when you clean it there is virtually no blood in the body cavity, makes for a much easier cleaning. if you wanna borrow some of my excuses feel free: the sun was in my eyes, I had sweat in my eyes, I got stung by a bee, tripped on a rock, the scope was loose, another hunter spooked it at the last second. like Scott said I'm sure you'll get another chance at it or another.
