While in the Cypress this Saturday I heard the strangest noise and have no idea what it was. About 2-300 yds out it sounded like a hard wind gust and ended with a growl. whooooogrrrrrrrrrr. Each time it lasted about 3 seconds and usually 4 or 5 times in a row about 10 or so seconds apart. It lasted for about 5 minutes and started back up a little closer 10 minutes later. Made me pay attention to that area for a while. Thinking maybe a panther? Never heard one before so was curious as to what everyone thinks.
Boogie man
It was cr0ck with a case of gas. I think if it was a panther it would not have been coming closer to you unless you were near it's cubs or some food it had near by.
might be one for the skunk ape thread. "lol" "lol"
"lol" "lol" "lol" I knew the Boogie man or Skunk Ape would come out of this.It was really wierd. Whatever it was I don't think it knew I was even there. It was coming from a cypress head that i was sitting near but I had the wind in my favor. I've seen and heard a ton of game come from that head but saw nothing on Sat. for the 1st time since i started sitting that area. At 1st I thought it was a gust of wind coming but then it had a deep distinctive growl at the end. Definitely wasn't any deer sound I've ever heard. When I was hunting this area I found a ton of panther tracks that all seemed to end about 1000 yds from where i was Sat. so thought maybe that was it. OK, let the games begin!!!!!
