Yes yall were hunting the same WMA
Saturday night there were 3 bucks and 1 hog taken. Your buddy's 8 point a 6 point and one that had 3 on one side, but the third point was just under an inch. The check station guy was cool and didn't say anything, but I'm not sure what a Game Warden would have said. But, the last deer didn't have any bottom teeth. They estimated him around 7 years old. His rack had two forks and two tiny kickers at the bottom. He wouldn't have gotten any better unless he died. We joked that he would need a crock pot to eat that thing.
The first shot came from the area where my buddy usually hunts. He didn't sit there that morning. He kicked himself for that.
Didn't see anything taken Sunday when I left around noon. Usually they have close to double digit hogs from there.
He told me about the old deer. He drives a old Toyota 4 runner (silver)....
With a winch on the front? If so, I talked to that guy last year. He was funny. Reminded me of a kid the way his sense of humor is. Didn't act his age. He was standing there when we pulled up and the check station guy from last year, Woody, started telling me about how the deer had no teeth. I hollered out, "I don't believe a word you're saying". Your buddy chimes in, "You know him too!" We both laughed!
He did mention last year that he had to wait another year to be exempt. We were waiting for someone to turn in their permit last year so we could go in. What a small world.
