I've been hunting for three years now and saw two bucks this year for the first time. I have't gotten one,but as my buddy says "Its camping or hiking with a purpose" I just sit out there and enjoy Gods Creation.I've gotten 2 pigs w/my bow but no deer. They're tough!
I wouldn't be upset to much it will happen in time if you don't give up. My brother is a tough luck hunter,missed a big one in Ga a few days ago and lost one before that. Public hunting drives me nuts,I can't tell you how many times I've set up on a hot spot after scouting my butt off only to have someone walk right up on me and set up or gangs walking thru the woods like they're gonna kill something.My advice to you is if you really want to shoot some deer and not be bothered spend some money and join a Ga lease or even Fl has some great hunting too but I love hunting in Ga. The main thing is you will not kill anything sitting on your butt watching tv or at the computer,sooner or later something will come by you,a lot of luck involved and patience. Literally my back yard is Croom WMA,I see deer there all the time,they even come up in my yard but rarely hunt in there because of the crowds. Good luck.
2- hogs with bow and arrow is quite an accomplishment, you obviously have what it takes and are doing things right, the deer will come.it took me forever to get my first deer. every time I go hunting I learn at least one new thing, or how to improve something I'm already doing. the only advice I can think would be to get out there as often as possible, even if only a couple of hours. good luck & happy T. day
