I wear the snake proof rubber boots from cabelas. I had a close call last year with a mocassin and if I ever got bit I think I would have a heart attack before the poison would be able to get into my bloodstream.

I had a friend of mine get bit by a mocassin while wading in some water and the fangs hung in the snake-proof boot and he drug the snake with him to dry ground before it detached and he killed it. I would have to go home and clean my pants out after that.

I'd grab the snake by it neck, break its head off with my teeth and spit it out, skin it bare handed, eat the snake raw, tie the skin in a knot and piss in it for a drink later....

Sorry, I saw Bear Grylls do that :rock_on

I can imagine the extra load I'd be carrying on the way out if there was a cottonmouth attached to my boot. I think the animals would come out of hiding to watch me like I was the second coming of Christ as I sprinted across the top of the water.

While I respect poisonous snakes, and do see them as a potential threat, there are things out there that are more dangerous. Given half a chance, they will get out of your way. Put your foot in a yellow jackets nest, or be in a box stand when the red paper wasps swarm you, or run into a hornets nest.....Now that'll get your attention

i have caught most snakes in my area growing up and seen lots of moccasins and a few ratttlers, but i still have yet to see a poisonous snake. :clown
