I wouldnt shoot any sandhills. I know a guy whos dumbass brother got caught shooting sandhills. When the game wardens found him, he had killed 3. He was arrested for that and other nonrelated things and he just gotta outta prison after 4 years. He was an idiot and deserved every charge he got
There is a season on them in the midwest states. They are good eating from what I hear. They feed on agriculture crops out there, not on the beside the road crap like we see here
I seen a tv show with guys shooting them in Texas or Louisianna. They were pounding them and I couldn't believe it. A friend of mine told me they hunt them thata way and that they're good eatin'. I tried googling Tred the other day and couldn't find any new news about his spinal stroke or current condition. I seen him shoot a hermaphrodite turkey with his bow and a small bull elk.
guess I should have explained< I was refering to hunting cranes out west where it is a legal game animal. however if I were homeless and broke and needed to feed my family I'd probably eat just about any animal i could get hold of before I'd eat out of a garbage dumpster
