For someone who is just curious, you come across very condescending. As if someone who has someone else process their game is less of a hunter than you or something.

It's no different than asking why someone gets their beef from Publix instead of leasing some land, raising, butchering and processing their own beef.

Different strokes for different folks.

Maybe some like the hunt and the meat but not the guts and stank in the middle? It may not be a case of not being able to learn it themselves. Maybe they just don't want to do it themselves.

I can't rebuild a transmission. If my transmission goes out, I'll take it somewhere and have them fix it. I'm sure I COULD learn how to do it myself, but i don't WANT to. Same thing. You sound like the mechanic wondering why non-mechanics don't rebuild their own transmissions instead of taking it to a mechanic.

This doesn't seem like something that is too hard to grasp. From other posts of yours, you seem plenty sharp enough to figure this out on your own without coming across condescending to everyone that doesn't do it the way you do.

I hope you don't take offense to that.

Well since you want to be all condescending like that, while you are processing your deer and spending all that time doing it I am making more money than I need to have it done for me and I enjoy it better that way. Thank you...hell and I was tying to be nice.

Obviously the internet and my way of writing doesnt seem to be too soft.....I was not in anyway.....like I've stated before....trying to be any type of disrespectful. I'm not sure how much clearer I can make that......money is not the issue.....I just happen to find it rewarding to process my animals myself....if I wanted to , yes, I could have it processed without a hesitation to my wallet. I was not trying to make this a monetary or demeaning topic. I was just curious. I hope that you can try to see the lighter side of this....if not....then do not bother posting.

I do not take offense to anything you said. If this was a d**k measuring contest.....my zipper would stay up. Not for reasons of of inadequacy but for reasons of competition. I was just curious as to why most forum members visit processors instead of doing it theirselves. Not looking for a fight.

that you are able to do all that is a testament to your skill, willingness to put in the time and effort and # of animals done to get that skill from sheer experience, I can do fair to midlin on a basic job but have never tackled sausage, jerky, meat sticks, peperoni or any thing real complicated. aside from the convenience factor a good butcher just plain does a better job at it than me as that is his profession and has done thousands to my 20 or so. hogs I find a lot easier than deer. peeling the hide off a frozen or very chilled deer that has been hung for over a week is no easy task and well worth the 50-75 $ imo. not an issue down here. most if not all the butchers I knew up north had hands like stone masons, big and strong.

Nacho...you seem to know what I' getting at.....I thank you for your compliments and I assure you that once you try or have been taught the cheats/tricks of it, it is not that demanding. I would love to have the opportunity to show you some of my recipes and techniques if you were willing to trade some of your astonishing reloading techniques and practices. I am dying to learn to reload. I am at such a disadvantage. PM me. I have plenty of meat that I can grind/butcher for us to bond/learn over. Let me know.
