Couple of counties recently had to remove their restrictions on shooting as they would have been held in contempt by the state. The new regulations allow the Florida state to go after county/city mayors and commissioners personally if they acted against the rules.
Some of you guys may remember Collier county sheriff going around Golden Glades warning people who were shooting on their property that they would be ticketed or even arrested if they shot out there. Well, all those regulations had to be removed from their book due to this state regulations. If you own property at Golden Glades you can shoot out there again.
Sarasota County shut down the Knight's Trail gun range because of the new law, for fear they'd be found to be in violation somehow. They had to let to FWC take it over so the state would be in control. Haven't been out there since they opened it back up. It wasn't supposed to change anything but who was responsible for running it.

We did but those were local regulations... not state regs.
granted I'm a yankee transplant but the laws seem to contradict often. where you would think there would be a law like shooting near a dwelling or paved rd there are none, (it's illegal to shot over/across one but it says nothing about how far from the rd you need to be) but fwc will still stop you anyway and ruined one of the 2 turkey hunts I was able to do this year, even though we both knew I was 100% legal. and as far as getting the correct info I go right to the fwc and still get different info and each leo seems to do whatever they want to or "they" believe is the law.
