I don't feel bad when I step on a roach, or wonder if I should eat it. If I catch a mouse in a trap I don't think about what body parts can be put to good use. If I get a 'yote in my sights, I'll pull the trigger and put it down, and not give it any more thought than a roach or mouse.
In upstate PA along the NY border, we have a bad problem with yotes, and the deer population shows it. There are far fewer deer now than there were 8 years ago, and that's after they instituted the 3pt on one side rule for bucks in Potter County. Fewer deer are being harvested, and yet the deer population has decreased dramatically. Some can be attributed to the increase in bear population too, but we never used to see yotes except on rare occasion at night, and now they are a common occurrence. I say shoot all of em you see. It isn't gonna eradicate them, but it will keep the numbers in check. I'd like to get a couple nice ones to turn into one of them mountain man hats.
will shoot a yote anytime i get a chance to. matter of fact last trip to georgia , a wild dog got the business end of my 30/30. got pictures of a pack all summer and the tracks show they are running deer trying to get the fawns.
curious. if you are on wma property do they care if you kill them? ive only hunted on private land
get a pamphlet from each wma you hunt. rules/dates for each are very different. don't assume what's OK on one is OK on another, that would be too simple and make too much sense.
