How is chaz for hog and or spring turkey thought about goin there for GG soon for hog since its only one i kniow where it is somewhat near me :bbq
well the hogs you have to know where they are. It changes every year. One year there was a wallow the size of a house loaded with hogs, and the next year it was all dried up and grown up with weeds so bad it took me a half hour to find it and it was marked on my gps!. Not a hog print in sight. turkey usually roost in the same place there that ive noticed. Its just so big and the places i go to are so far in off the beaten path that i could only show you where the spots are. I shot my first hog ever there. but the place is huge. Heavy pressure. Half is dog hunting and half is still hunting. if your looking for hogs id go with homosassa. That place is loaded with hog sign.
I hunted the entire Archery in Chass and did not see one hog the entire 30days. They only got 4hogs for the 30 days. Last year had hogs all over but due to the burning and brush hogging and lack of rain they must have moved closer to the Gulf. Now Turkeys are all over but good luck getting in there on the spring quota may take quite awhile with only 2 or 3 weekend openings of 10quotas each. I did get nice buck during Archery but no hogs.
I put in for spring turkey the other day for chaz and got it i think thats why im askin
you won't know if you were drawn for a spring turkey qouta permit until Dec.when the FWC posts the results
