OK folks,
I have a quota for opening day at Green swamp general gun season. Never been to "opening" day before in any of the WMA's.
I am interested in what kind of Fiasco/crazyness i can expect? When do you think I should get there? to get in line?
will there be a line?
What can I expect?

Have you ever been to Green Swamp any other time? It's not that bad. There may be a line depending on what time you get there. But, I don't think it will be crazy. Do you know where you're going to hunt in there? If it's close to the front check statio, then I suggest you get there when the gates open. I've run late a few times and there were other people parked in the area I wanted to hunt. That's when Plan B starts and you go to your next spot.
yes I have been there before, hunted one day during this archery season. And have been there a few times before.
but never during opening day of either season, gun or archery.
I have an idea of a couple of place I want to go hunt, one is where i was during archery season over some sign. But I bet it was too hot to see any deers.
Hope I see a nice buck, but will take whatever I can get in front of me. (sadly no does now...) and thats all i have seen so far. but if a piggy stumbles out into the open, I will take him too.
I was there opening day of archery and wasn't bad at all. Drove right in and got my permit without having to wait in line. Should be no problem for you.
