I'm on my way!
:taz Typical liberal overreaction!!!! See if you can follow the reasoning- I can't!
I spoke with my son this afternoon. The word :hammer from the town is:
2 of the 3 main areas will be opened for hunting. The third was squashed by the local school committee :nono which claimed it was too close to a school (it isn't- the town next over is even closer to schools and is 'archery only', but they wouldn't budge.)
The other two areas will be open (are you ready for this???) Only during non-school hours! :wacko If they're really worried about accidents, wouldn't they want the kids IN school when all them crazy gunslingers :chain were in the woods killing Bambi?
Finally, they are limiting the season to November 1- December 31- and the First Year ONLY town residents will be allowed in!!! NO NON-RESIDENTS AT ALL!!! This in a town known for an anti-gunner population!!!
Let me remind you, the areas have not been hunted since 1985!!!! :rolleyes
and its also a shotgun only hunt or archery and shotgun. i can guarantee ya that. they openen it around haggots at all?
Andover, MA. It's about 40 miles north of Boston up 93 and about 15 miles from the NH border.
Haggetts Pond is open to hunting- that's where the majority of roadkills that started this whole thing have taken place. Last year my son found a carcass with 12 points it was bloated and covered with flies.
