anyone know of any magazine capacity limits for shotguns, for deer/hog on state land/wma's, it seems the hunting regs and individual wma's may differ on certain things. mine holds 4 rounds of 2 3/4 or 3" and 3 of the 3 1/2", or I could add a mag extender if I don't want to carry extra rounds in my pockets
That sounds about right. And yes they will check to make sure its plugged. Always the first thing they check when ive been out duck hunting
shotgun is 3 rounds. if you dont have a plug, dont load more than 3, including one in the chamber. if you dont have a plug and they check you and you have 3 or less, you are ok. get a plug so there is no confusion.
I know its 3 rounds for migratory game birds ( ducks, geese, dove ), but I'm hog or deer hunting, the way I read the regs it's 5 rounds for autoloaders or rifles, and as long as its legal I'd like that extra round. I've only used 3 rounds one time in 35 yrs deer hunting ( first 2 were dbl lung shots, 3rd was in the temple), that sumbitch didn't wanna go down. and I'll admit ( never hog hunted) all these stories of hogs charging and ripping up dogs and hunters got me a little leery especialy if going out alone. I'll definately be packing a side arm, of my three choices what do you guys recomend: ruger sp101 5shot 357 snubbie, glock 15 round 40 cal, or sigsauer p220 45acp 9 round. thanks for the advive.
if huntin birds the gun has to be pluged with a plug that cant beremoved in the field with out some sort of disasembley of the gun 3 rounds only. if huntin deer, hogs, small game its 5 rounds in the gun total so one in the chamber 4 in the pipe. got that straight from the man his self.
my side arm is either 45acp and or a knife.
