This is our camp set up. We normally take about 10 guys up to the Panhandle and camp for a week on a 300 acre farm. We just got access to a 150 acre tree farm up near Live Oak that we plan on building a small cabin on. Still in the process of that.
That's what I am talking about...10 guys out for a camping trip..oh yeah!!
We have a small 12 acre property about 2 hours away from our house.
We call it our "farm" but we haven't really done anything on it yet... maybe next month I'll shoot a hog.
My wife goes out there to just relax, shoot and raise some vegetables with me and my son.
We originally stayed in a tent on our property... just me, wife and son.
It was fun and not too bad as we only stayed two or three nights and weather was great.
As we stayed longer we wanted something more comfortable so we picked up a 16' camper that we tow out there along with a generator. We have added a 10'x10' screened canopy to the mix as mesquitos are coming out heavy at night. We'll add another screened canopy for the outside kitchen/dining. The best part of being out there is shooting on our little rifle range I'm building. We have 50 yard range for us to shoot out 22lr rifles with a portable canopy. It's my wife's and son's favorite thing to do out there.
Only thing that's "difficult" is that we don't have a water source on our property yet so we have to bring in all our water. We also have to tow the camper in and out each time as we can't leave it out there now but that will be solved on October when my neighbor returns and I'll be able to leave it on his property. I also want to bring in a 20' shipping container to store some stuff I use out there. We'll be looking into drilling a well and installing a septic tank this year.
Maybe some time in future we'll build a house on it but that's still years away.
We've only had this property for few months so everything is new and we are learning.
Sounds like your setting up your bug out location

I don't think it would work well for that purpose... very difficult to defend that location.
