well i got out to hunt again this mornin since i am cut back to a 4 day work week. we jumped a hog but he was more on the ball than we were only got to see the south end headed north, never got on him again or any others, the game is way over pressured where i hunt sucks but its the only place i have to hunt close to home and its public land so it is what it is. but the good news the crows are thick in the area so were headed out in the am for some crow huntin, i havent gotten out to hunt poor man ducks in awhile and there is only a little over a week left to the crow season so we are gonna go try and bust the ass off a few of em hope fully a bunch of em! they can be a blast when you can get a flock fired up and commin in to attack what they think is somethin attackin them, i 've had them attack my owl decoys before its a blast and they can and will give you some serious shootin action with the moves they will put on when they spot ya and you start shootin. if i get my wife to go with us i'm gonna have her do some videoing for us so hope fully i'll have sothin to post up in the afternoon tomorow.

donny it can get wild when you set up decoys (crow) with a horned owl decoy they will go nuts for the owl also if you wound/wing a crow and let him lay and flop and call they will really come in balls to the wall, also 7out of 10 times they will send in a scout to check things out ahead of time and if he busts you or you miss him he will go back to the flock and then its game over and you will have to run and gun just like turkey huntin, you cant use electric calls on public land for them just hand calls but if you can use the electric cals and use a fight between them and a owl or hawk it gets crazy as well as the distress call. i had a setup a few years back on the edge of a field with the owl on the ground surounded by crows and was callin then out of nowhere i had a yote run past me from behind and attacked the owl decoy! the thing went by me no lie at less than three feet he was so intent on what was goin on he never noticed me, it was so quick i threw two shots at him and never touched him.
