Matter of fact, I had a GW walk up on me in Croom down by the river. He was in-cognito. asked me to kick the shell out of my chamber of my shotgun so he could see what it was. It was a #8. He was looking for turkey poachers shooting birds off the roost down in there in small game season. GW's are not going to go trompin thru the woods unless they have a reason to. Every time I have seen one deep in the woods they are in there on a tip, or staking out something they have seen

I'd have to agree with them on the GM's getting into the thick stuff. Up in the panhandle, I've had em stop and talk to me, after I've come out of the stand, and then go strolling back in to check on some folks that were drivin in where they weren't supposed to be. Of course, not before he's called it in and had backup on the way. Long way to walk back in in some spots (5-6 miles), and I can't blame him for wanting some backup or at least knowin where he's going. The best part is watching them hike into the planted pines right before dark and wait for the shots to ring out, then they wait at the truck. Damn'd shame them folks gettin busted for shootin after dark after they've dragged that deer out a mile or more.
